Cauliflower Cheese


  • 200 ml full cream milk
  • 2-3 cauliflower and/ or broccoli florets
  • 15g butter
  • 15g flour
  • 25-50g cheddar cheese grated depending on type of cheese and how creamy you wish the end sauce to be


Step 1: Steam or boil the cauliflower/ broccoli until just soft enough to mash and drain and set aside.

Step 2: In a non-stick pan, gently melt the butter and stir through the flour until it is well mixed. Add the milk and gently bring to the boil stirring constantly. When thickened take off the heat and stir through the cheese.

Step 3: add the vegetables to the sauce and mash to a texture suitable for your baby. Allow to cool enough before serving

For Family version:

To make this enough for a family of 4, you would times the ingredients by 3-4. Also, you can add in pasta to make a meal, for infants over 9 months the pasta could make a good finger food, and putting it inside mashblox is a perfect way to enjoy it!
